Fall 2008 Fashion Trend–Booties (aka Shoe-boots)
August 13th, 2008 by crystal
If the gladiator sandal was the shoe of the summer, the ‘bootie’ is the shoe of choice this fall. Look in any style-related magazine and you’ll see models and celebrities alike sporting them. Though they echo the ankle boot trend of the 90’s, the choices for this style movement are endless and very tasteful. Booties come chunky, prissy, school-girl, biker chick, lace up, oxford, peep-toe, suede, patent, leather, conservative, skanky, you name it…
My favorite look so far? a suede bootie in a fun color (like purple or blue) worn with long opaque tights. Think 80’s rocker-chic slash ballerina.
Wear with: skinny jeans, tights, short skirts or dresses.
Don’t wear with: baggy jeans, maxi dresses.
Remember: booties may emphasize chubby ankles.
Since they were super prevalent on the runways, more affordable options have been surfacing.
