Window Shopping :: 5 August 2009

August 5th, 2009 by crystal
It’s time for another Window Shopping list! After reading what’s been on my radar for the last few days, share something that’s been on yours in the comments section.

Watching: JK Wedding Entrance Dance

JK Wedding Entrance dance
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, I’m sure you’ve already seen this video. It’s hit the Internet (and network morning shows) by storm. I have to admit to tearing up a bit every time I watch it. I’m just amazed at how personalized the couple made their wedding…such a celebration of them as a couple! I thought my husband and I were original when we included contemporary music in our wedding processional. Compared to this, we were just lame.

If you’ve already seen the Jill and Kevin’s wedding entrance and just can’t get enough, check out the video of them recreating the dance on the Today Show. Or, you can read about Good Morning America kicking them out of their hotel room after inviting them to New York. Or, sadly, there’s even the JK divorce entrance parody.

Shopping List: Urban Outfitters Hats

Hat Trends Fall 2009
I know that hats are a definite for my Fall/Winter wardrobe. I’m beginning to decide what style might look best on me. Most stores have a few hats to choose from, but Urban Outfitters has a ton! I love all of the different types and styles they offer. I already have a cloche from last year, so I’m thinking of adding a fedora to my collection this year. What do you think?

Loving: Paloma’s Nest

Ring Bearer Bowl
Caroline of Paloma’s Nest, an Etsy store, has created the most amazingly creative option for ring bearers. Her original ring bearer bowl is a keepsake you’ll treasure forever–a much better option than those cheesy pillows. And, if you’ve already wed or aren’t going to anytime soon, Caroline has tons of other handmade goodies. I’m particularly in love with the cute little bowls, thinking I definitely need a whole set. Pondering what I might want stamped on them…

Giggling About: Magazine Girls

More Magic Always
I came upon this article yesterday and found myself giggling and smiling through the entire read. So creative, so fun! It was definitely a bright spot in my day.

Excited About: Rodarte for Target

Rodarte for Target
Women’s Wear Daily reported today that Rodarte will be releasing a Target Go International Collection on December 20. The collection will consist of 55 pieces ranging in price from $9.99 to $79.99 and will only last until February 6th. I will definitely be at my computer ready for some online shopping come December 20!

Reading: Penelope Trunk

A friend suggested I read Penelope Trunk’s Brazen Careerist. I dutifully added her to my Google Reader and am so glad I did! Her articles are so honest, blunt and have been quite timely for what’s happening in my world as of late.

About the blog: What I think my life is about is figuring out how to find success at the intersection of work and life—one happy, synchronized adventure. It’s a difficult task, and I don’t want to do it alone. So my blog is a community where we all do it together.

Let’s Discuss: What to do when you have nothing to wear

So, only one person responded here about what they do when they have nothing to wear. When I posted the article on Facebook, I received quite a few responses from friends saying the tips were helpful to decrease the amount of time they spend staring at their wardrobes each morning.

The article was also featured on the front page of a local online magazine called the Austin Post (it’s now been moved to the front page for the Shopping section). Seems there wasn’t a whole lot to say about it, but folks found it useful. What do you think? Were the tips helpful? How much time do you spend deciding what to wear?
