What To Wear On A Rainy Day
It’s hard to stay stylish when you’re also trying to stay dry. If you’re going to be outside for more than just to run from building to car, you might want to consider these practical options that will help you get from point A to point B without looking like a drowned rat.
Waterproof Jacket/Coat (with hood)
A waterproof jacket is essential. Your umbrella can’t cover everything and there will be times when an umbrella is impractical. Make sure your jacket is waterproof, fast-drying and hooded.
Synthetic Leggings
Even if you wear the very tallest rain boots and a fabulous rain jacket, your pants are still subject to puddles and wind-blown rain. Make sure you choose pants that dry quickly. Synthetic leggings are a good option as they’ll fit well beneath your rain boots and will dry quickly when you arrive at your destination.
Tall Rain Boots
Tall rain boots are a must for any rainy day. Whether you go with the tried and true classic Hunter boot or one of the more modern styles, make sure your rain boot is tall and tightens at the top.
Waterproof Tote
Carrying your designer leather purse is not advisable in weather like this. Find a waterproof tote that’s big enough to hold your purse and the cute shoes you’ll swap your rain boots out for once you reach your destination. A tote with a zipper-top is ideal.
Pro-tip - Look for beach bags. They’re waterproof and often have zipper-tops. Plus, you’ll be able to use them at the beach this Summer!
Waterproof Gloves
Keep your hands warm and dry as you hold your umbrella with waterproof gloves. Many of the options are meant for snow so they’re bulky with padding. Try to find a pair that’s not quite so ski bunny.
Umbrella
This goes without saying – you need an umbrella. Choose one that stands out from others so you’ll be sure to remember it when you leave a restaurant or your office.
