Fall Fashion Trend–Tights with Peep-Toe Heels

It’s been pounded into me since I was a little girl: “Do NOT, under any circumstances, wear full hose (or tights for that matter) with open-toed shoes.” I’ve been quite hard-core in maintaining this decorum. And shuddering when others do not. Even my husband, who is not at all up on fashion trends or faux pas, knows this one. I guess it’s because up until a couple of years ago, the only people you saw do this were middle-aged or older ladies in church dresses, nude hose and strappy, flat sandals. That look? Still not cool! But, leave it to fashion designers to take an idea like that and make it sexy. To get this look, opaque or patterned hose are best and should be worn with a basic peep-toe pump, booties, or t-strap heels. For this fall, it’s a must…Here’s a run down:
On the Runway
It seemed like almost every designer incorporated this look into their Fall 2008 runway shows. Tights came in solid black, colored and patterned and were paired with almost anything…cropped pants, short skirts, dresses, you name it. Designers who worked the look were John Galliano, Chanel, Gucci, and Burberry to name a few.
Celebrity Fashion
Kristin Davis was spotted wearing black tights and peep-toe heels. Other celebs such as Jessica Alba have as well.
