Spring 2009–Louis Vuitton
October 11th, 2008 by crystal
Watching the Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 Fashion Show left us wondering if we were viewing fashion or an art exhibit. Both, I suppose. While every designer showcases their art through the fashion they create, Marc Jacobs held nothing back in this collection. As the models came down the runway, you could see that nothing was left undone…no part of the canvas left untouched. From the earrings, to the shoes, to the bags, to the garments, everything was adorned specifically for the theme of the collection.
Some words to describe the collection:
Parisian–Very Moulin-Rouge-ish with rich colors, netting and a dash of glitter.
Tribal–Leopard skin, large wooden jewelry, feathers
Edgy–When deciding between feminine and edgy, this collection is definitely edgy with sharp angles, dark colors, black netting and lace.
Ornate–Accessories galore! Oversized necklaces and earrings flowed into the outfits themselves. Bracelets were stacked up the arms and adornments hung from handbags and shoes.
Wide-leg Pants
Obi-belted waists
Short Skirts
See-through Fabrics
Metallic
Rich Colors–Red, Cranberry, Blue, Yellow, Black. Not at all what you would expect for Spring.
