Fashion Week Spring 2009–Rubin Singer

Though he’s said he drew inspiration from style of the 1940′s, Rubin Singer’s Spring 2009 Collection is equally futuristic. Broad shoulders and flared necklines bring Judy Jetson’s wardrobe (or Cindy McCain’s RNC Day One dress) to mind. That’s not to say that it’s not an amazing collection. He does a great job of pairing those futuristic elements with classic styles. Here’s what I saw:

color palettes of tan, cream and black
flowing dresses
tight silhouettes
flowing dresses paired with tight silhouettes
asymmetrical dresses
broad shoulders
polka dots
stripes
art prints
teal
orange
