Fashion Favorites at the Golden Globe Awards

January 12th, 2009 by crystal

In case you missed it, the Golden Globe Awards were last night. I’ll save the fashion mishaps (and there were definitely a few) for your grocery store tabloid and focus on the most stunning looks. Though most of the styles are classic and timeless, we also got a peek of what will be trendy this Spring.
Don’t forget to comment on your favorite Golden Globe Awards dress!

Freida Pinto

Golden Globe Fashion
A newcomer to Hollywood, Freida Pinto looks quite at home in her amazing gown designed by Christian Lacroix. The Slumdog Millionaire star went for a simple, elegant look. The gathers in her dress fit with the ruffled and gathered Spring trend. And, that color is to die for! Not only does it look great on her, it’s also rich and classy.

Drew Barrymore

Golden Globe Fashion
So, I’m not a huge fan of Drew’s hair here, but that dress! Wow! Designed by John Galliano for Dior, this gray flowing gown is a work of art. It’s hard to see in this image, but the ‘sleeves’ are different widths, making the dress asymmetrical in an untraditional way. The detail work on the side and the mermaid cut give this dress a fairy tale quality.

Cameron Diaz

Golden Globe Fashion
This dress has created quite a stir. It seems like people either loved it or hated it. I LOVE it! The rich pink color is fabulous with Cameron’s complexion. It’s hard to find a pink that’s not too pastel or too pepto bismol. Cameron definitely made a good choice with this one. The asymmetrical cut, the ruching and the ruffles could definitely be overdone when put together, but they really seem to work together in this design by Chanel Haute Couture.

Angelina Jolie

Golden Globe Fashion
Angelina Jolie has a style all her own. I love this simple, sparkly dress designed by Versace. Gathered at the waist to provide a bit of draping, the lines accentuate Angelina’s great figure.

Amy Adams

Golden Globe Fashion
This is such a classic look! I love the detail work on this gown designed by Oscar de la Renta. The sweetheart neckline and the flowing cut are perfect on Amy!

Kate Beckinsale

Golden Globe Fashion
This dress, designed by J.Mendel, fits Spring fashion to a tee! White dresses are definitely in. Pair that with ruffles and a mermaid cut and you can’t get much trendier.

There were many other fabulous dresses, but these were the ones that stood out from the crowd.

Which dress was your favorite?
