Fashion Distraction :: Yigal Azrouel Spring 2010
Yigal Azrouel’s Spring 2010 collection didn’t make any jaws drop. No fashion editors audibly gasped as his models took to the runway. What Azrouel did accomplish was the extension of what is becoming known as his signature–a focus on geometry through the use of cut-outs, negative space and body-con dresses. Azrouel himself called the collection “a study of geometry”.
Rather than the dark hint of the 80’s we saw in his Fall show, Yigal Azrouel’s Spring 2010 show was light, strong and futuristic.
His muse was the type of woman he himself is attracted to–someone strong, sexy, yet still feminine.
And apparently, someone in ridiculous shape. Almost all of the pieces featured baring cut-outs and body-conscious styles.
My favorite? The focus on shoulders. Quite a few pieces featured a cut-out (or maybe captured) shoulder that was surprisingly sexy and demure all at the same time.

What should we take from the collection?
Looking at Yigal Azrouel’s interpretation of next Spring’s style, we can tell skin is in, yellow is the accent color of choice (I LOVE that yellow mini!) and shoulders are super sexy!
What do you think?
Love it or hate it?

I am going to say that I love most of it. I am huge fan of yellow for spring. It is a great way to brighten any wardrobe. I love the loose. flowy dresses. An easy look that everyone can appreciate. All in all I love the collection!
