Fashion Distraction: Richard Chai Fall 2009

April 20th, 2009 by crystal
I have to say I was pretty underwhelmed by this collection. It’s true there were some amazing pieces, but the overall show was meh. Many of the looks were frumpy and seemingly thrown together. I’m all for layering, but when the pieces accentuate each other. The layering in this show mitigated the qualities of each piece rather than highlighted them. Furthermore, the collection is rather un-feminine. Even the dresses were accessorized down, hiding the inherent femininity dresses possess. Check out the photos below and see what you think.

Why all the colors in this collection are so dark? Sure it’s a fall collection, but it doesn’t mean we should all be in a gloomy mood and wear dark clothes all the time…
