Fashion Distraction: Rebecca Taylor Fall 2009
May 4th, 2009 by crystal
I can best label the Rebecca Taylor Fall 2009 collection as ’sexy librarian’. Many of the pieces would be frumpy if worn on their own with neutral, monochromatic pieces. But, paired with leopard print, jewel tones, colored tights and ruffles, they take on a whole new meaning. Even the details (dark blue shadow, side bun, socks with pumps) were a vamped up version of a more conservative style. All that was missing was a pair of cat-eye glasses.
Rebecca’s inspiration for the collection was “Northern European Fairytales”. The fur and fair isle knits add a woodsy feel that’s made whimsical with feminine touches like ruffles and flowing materials.
