Fashion Distraction :: Charlotte Ronson Spring 2010
Charlotte Ronson’s Spring 2010 show was all 80′s ballerina. Mesh leggings under skirts, bodysuits, jumpsuits, built-out shoulders, bare shoulders, top knots and braided headbands were reminiscent of Flashdance, Footloose and Dirty Dancing.
Charlotte Ronson made this look slightly edgy with the addition of leather, studs and obi belts. While it was a fun line, it was border-line costume attire. Were you to don looks like those the models wore down the runway, you’d run the risk of looking like you were on your way to an 80′s costume party.
Of course, any of these pieces could be muted if worn separately or toned down with different accessories or pairings. What we can take away from Charlotte Ronson’s collection is the focus on the soft, artistic side of the 80′s and the mix of edgy accessories with the soft tulle of the ballet look.
