Fashion Distraction :: Bottega Veneta Spring 2010
When Tomas Maier began creating the designs for his Spring 2010 collection, his intent was to create a blank canvas upon which women could accessorize and add their own personal touches. His loose, draped pieces are not meant to bind or constrict to create a particular silhouette. Rather, they allow the piece to look entirely unique dependent on the wearer.
Though most of the collection was essentially colorless with whites, nudes and creams, it was still quite diverse. Shockingly bright dresses surfaced at the end of the show, completely contrasting the earlier neutrality. And throughout the show, pieces varied from tight to loose…from short to knee-length…from drop-waist to natural waist.

Thoughts?
Once again, we’re seeing sporty styles, lingerie looks, neutral colors, menswear pieces and a general focus on sleek femininity. I’m a fan of the sleeker styles seen here…not so much of the paper bag varieties. You?
