Apparel at Piperlime

We all know Piperlime as the shoe sister to Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic. Recently, they’ve started dabbling in apparel. I was dubious at first. They started with a super small selection of designer clothing. I realize now they were just getting started.
What strikes me as interesting is that they’re selling items not made by the brand. I guess they have always sold shoes that weren’t Old Navy, Gap or Banana Republic so it’s a natural next step. At Piperlime, you’ll find designer name brands like 7, Marc Jacobs, Citizens of Humanity and BB Dakota. Their offerings are quite similar to Chick Downtown or Pink Mascara’s.
So, what makes them different?
In two words, Rachel Zoe.
I think most of this came about from partnering with Rachel Zoe. Piperlime has showcased her ‘picks’ for shoes and handbags for well over a year. It just makes sense that they would take advantage of this opportunity to move into apparel.
For apparel, Rachel Zoe offers her picks just as she did for shoes and handbags. She also showcases Piperlime looks on The Rachel Zoe Project and shares them with shoppers on Piperlime. In addition to seeing her favorite pieces, you can see entire outfits she’s pieced together.
There is also a ‘Real Steals’ category which lists everything that is priced under $100. I like having those items separated when I’m shopping, but I wouldn’t necessarily consider them steals.
What I like best about Piperlime’s new apparel is the way they’ve organized their pieces according to the latest trends. It’s easy to shop for boyfriend styles, slouchy sweaters and plaid because those trends are separated into their own categories. Piperlime also created a trend guide which is, of course, linked to each of the products so you can purchase right away. Though the trend guide is pretty spot-on, it’s also quite simplified to what they offer for purchase.
All in all, I’m pretty impressed with Piperlime’s new apparel offerings. It’s nice to have shoes and apparel together. And, it’s great they’re offering stylish clothing from other brands. Rachel Zoe, love her or hate her, has steered them right. You do have to admit the girl has style!
Have you checked out Piperlime’s apparel? What do you think?

Definitely! Great for so many things–class, work, double as a diaper bag.
