Fall 2009 Fashion Week: Charlotte Ronson

February 15th, 2009 by crystal

Charlotte Ronson’s show was definitely a work of art! Charlotte’s designs were reminiscent of World War II and late depression era clothing. They were, however, modernized and made edgy with tall boots, shiny zippers and lots of leather. Overall, the look was quite androgynous. Most of the jackets and pants were boy cut and broad shoulders reigned.

Recurring details in Charlotte’s show were:
epaulettes (helped to broaden the shoulders)
pleats (in shorts, pants, dresses and jumpsuits)
cut-outs (at the waist, shoulders, upper arms)
asymmetrical tops (dresses and tops with one shoulder and a long sleeve)
zippers
leather

The vintage music, which was DJ-ed by Charlotte’s twin Samantha, was amazing and worked so well to portray the overall theme of the show.
Watch the show at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week site.
