They’re everywhere this Spring.
And, lucky for all of us, they’re super versatile.
No matter your style, there’s a shirt dress for you.
With lots of layers or by itself, no matter what the weather is, you can wear a shirt dress.
The same shirt dress can be dressed up for work or dressed down for a backyard bbq.
Here is a guide for how to wear a shirt dress. Different ways to wear one, different styles to try and where you can buy yours now.
How To Wear a Shirt Dress
Cutesy
For a cute, demure look, wear a shirt dress with opaque tights and ballet flats. This is a good look for class, a casual work setting, a lunch date or a girls day of shopping.
Casual
In the heat of the Summer, go bare-legged and wear your shirt dress with flat gladiator sandals or a pair of topsiders. This look is a bit less feminine than the one described above, but is appropriate for all of the same settings.
Sophisticated
To really dress up a shirt dress, belt it with a skinny belt and wear heels. A ruffled tank underneath can also add a feminine touch. This look works for the office, a lunch meeting, happy hour or a second date.
Fashionista
For a super put together, I-should-be-a-stylist look, wear your shirtdress with a wide belt (for the best look, find a belt with an interesting buckle or a funky woven pattern) and tall boots. This look is ideal for plaid shirt dresses.

It’s not just
fashion designers who are excited about Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Our favorite beauty brands are also jumping on the bandwagon.
Urban Decay

Urban Decay’s Alice in Wonderland book of shadows was so popular, it sold out in just one day! Consisting of 16 top-selling shades, primer potion (which you can’t live without) and two pencils, it is a super diverse palette. From neutral to bold, there’s something there for every look imaginable.
Though Sephora is all sold out, rumor has it Urban Decay will be re-releasing the palette. Sign up on their
website to receive first notification.
OPI

OPI has also followed the craze with their 4 color collection–Absolutely Alice (glitter blue), Mad as a Hatter (glitter purple), Thanks So Muchness (rose) and Off with Her Red! (red).
You can find these colors at most upscale nail salons. They are also still selling it on Amazon. Get it quick because these are sure to sell out just like the Urban Decay palette did!

When Tomas Maier began creating the designs for his Spring 2010 collection, his intent was to create a blank canvas upon which women could accessorize and add their own personal touches. His loose, draped pieces are not meant to bind or constrict to create a particular silhouette. Rather, they allow the piece to look entirely unique dependent on the wearer.
Though most of the collection was essentially colorless with whites, nudes and creams, it was still quite diverse. Shockingly bright dresses surfaced at the end of the show, completely contrasting the earlier neutrality. And throughout the show, pieces varied from tight to loose…from short to knee-length…from drop-waist to natural waist.

Thoughts?
Once again, we’re seeing sporty styles, lingerie looks, neutral colors, menswear pieces and a general focus on sleek femininity. I’m a fan of the sleeker styles seen here…not so much of the paper bag varieties. You?
